The ship docks at St. George's, routinely called the prettiest harbor town in the Caribbean: a horseshoe of red roofs climbing green hills around a boat-filled lagoon. Grand Anse is the play, and the transfer is half the fun: a cheap water taxi scoots you from the port straight across the harbor to two miles of calm, postcard sand in about ten minutes — kids get a boat ride, parents skip the taxi negotiation entirely. Agree the round-trip price at the dock (a few dollars a head), remember your boatman's name, and the day runs itself: gentle water, chair vendors, and beachside lunch shacks doing fresh fish. It's one of the easiest great beaches in the catalog.

Fair warning on geography: St. George's is steep — those pretty hills are real, so with a stroller, stick to the waterfront Carenage loop and let the market come to you near the port. The underwater sculpture park is a booked snorkel trip for confident swimmers — magical for the right crew, skippable with littles.
